How about
a daily hug
a coupon book of chores to be performed
hand made anything
cookies (I like chocolate chip)
biting your tongue once in a while (I'm sure you don't agree on everything)

Dad's like personal stuff. You could write him a letter telling him all the things you appreciate about him and what he means to you. This is a gift he will take out and use over and over again until he is an old man and it cost nothing.

Otherwise, Dad's like food, get him a gift card so he can get some lunch on you! Maybe he'll take you along!

I think that the coupon idea is great! Breakfast, yard work, car wash and other things. A dad would love to get that. I think, I even saw printable coupons an the internet. I'll have to find them again.

Maybe even try a local Dollar Store.

Give your dad something from your heart... Make him an ornament to hang on the tree, or an old photo of you and him together placed in a hand decorated frame. You can go to a craft store for many inexpensive ideas.

Just do what I do for my kids. I got 3 so all I can afford to give them is 10 a piece and I take them to Wal mart and help them to pick out something for that price. I pay the taxes so it works out fine. We go look at ties, cologne, nail clipper sets, even teddy bears. I just let them get what means something to them and he makes a big deal out of it no matter what it is.

My 12 year old got him Cologne and chap stick one year and when she was 11 she got him a 10 dollar pair of gloves 'cause he is a construction worker and it was freezing out side and he didn't have any.

Just give her what money you can and let her go shopping... she will give from her heart and that is all that matters.

A picture of Dad and his children in an inexpensive frame.
(or just the children)

A tie dyed T-Shirt and write Best Dad and sign your name.

A man's brush and comb set.

A nice brown belt.

A billfold (wallet).

A sweat shirt of his favorite sports team.

A cap with something on it he likes, (like fishing, etc.)

A game or new deck of cards and chips if he plays poker.

A pair of warm gloves.

Mustache or beard trimmer if he has those.

A CD of his favorite music.

A movie he loves to watch over and over.

Make a silly home movie for him and at the end, all his children say something special to him.

Make a picture slideshow of pictures of his favorite event.

A basket of homemade cookies and candy.

That's it.

The best gift any parent could receive is a greeting card from their child with words from the heart saying exactly how you feel about your parents and everything that they do for you.

I did the coupon book as a kid ( good for one night of washing dishes, washing the car, taking out the trash, etc). I'm 37 and my parents still hit me with them every now and then!
