No, it isn't true. Gravity can't be blocked simply by putting one object in front of another.

That being said, there is some, very small agreement with the statement. The Sun, the Moon and the Earth all pull at you through the force of gravity. The direction of the forces are from you towards the centers of each of these bodies. When the Sun and the Moon line up in a total solar eclipse, their gravitational forces will combine and, if you are in the path of the shadow, you may weigh a few micrograms to milligrams less for a very short time. However, if you are on the other side of the Earth from the shadow, all three bodies will be pulling on you in line and your weight will go up by micrograms or milligrams.

Frankly, given that the movie is on VH-1, I'm surprised they tried any type of scientific statement when they could have put another fifteen seconds of barely contained boobage.

Earth's image voltaic eciplses at the instant are not unique in one way, yet ARE unique in yet another. not unique: The moon passes in front of the sunlight. all the planets with moon will adventure image voltaic eclipses in some unspecified time interior the destiny, as considered from the planet's floor. unique: In a finished image voltaic eclipse, the moon covers the sunlight with an exact journey, giving the staggering web content that we see. that is using the fact the moon is 4 hundred circumstances smaller than the sunlight, however the sunlight is 4 hundred circumstances further away, so as that they have an identical obvious length interior the sky. as far as i understand, there is nowhere else interior the image voltaic device the place this occurs. (please suitable suited me of i'm incorrect here)

I'm not sure about that, but I'll tell you something amazing that I didn't believe til I saw it myself...! An egg, a regular - buy them by the dozen - egg will STAND ON END...! It works for BOTH types of eclipses, too...! Try it the next time one comes around... Not sure if it works for partial eclipses, though...
