Neither system would be the wrong choice, but I would say to get an Xbox 360. The kinks have been worked out and sports games and especially shooters are fantastic on the system. And EA isn't going to make many sports games for the Wii either. EA is mostly supporting the curs-ed PS3 and the amazing Xbox 360. EA has chosen the "stupid" PS3 as their main project for games, but are still going to make many for the other two systems, but are catering more toward the two more powerful systems.(PS3 and the 360.) You should take a look at some of the games that each system has coming out and decide that way. Which ever system caters more to your game preference, choose that system. However I do recommend the Xbox 360.

the WII definitely. I wouldn't buy an old system when a new one is coming out. If you like to play sports games all day, at least the Wii will provide a new way to play it. And it isn't going to have just little kiddie games. EA will probably make more games on the Wii since there will be many more wii's sold than ps3. Madden nfl is coming out by the end of the year and I'm sure there will be many more. Plus the Wii can surf the internet and has some practical things like weather, so if you're really stuck on a game you don't have to go outside to find it out lol.
xbox 360 has halo, and is a powerful system, but wii is at least more powerful than the xbox. plus the xbox 360 is more expensive for the console and it's new games.

I'd definately go with the Wii because it's cheaper. Plus it has a bunch of neat stuff. It obviously has the awesome controller, it can play DVD's, hold your digital pictures, has internal memory, has wireless internet, and you can surf the net from your TV. It also has Gamecube backwards compatablity so you can still play your gamecube games and not have to deal with a big cube.
Playing Madden will be cool (Madden 07 to be exact) because there's a bunch of motions you can use. Like if you wanna pump up the crowd you can press a button and raise your arms. You can also point your controller to a receiver and then throw it to them. And when you kick, the more powerful you swing your arm, the more power your kick will have.

Well it looks like it would be kinda werid to play a sports game on the Wii. So I would say the 360. But the Wii is more about the weird games or games that seem weird.

If you had asked to choose between XboX 360 and PS3 my answer would have undoubtebly been PS3, but the Wii is another thing sure ,the controller looks like fun but what's fun ain't always easy. I suggest you go with XboX 360

360 no question....nintendo really failed with the gamecube.....it seems there new agenda is to focus on little kids.....which is why they made so many kiddie games like mario party........also theyve never had a good track record when it comes to sports games.....even the 64 didnt have any good sports games......
but if you like sports games....i would go with the PS3 if you can afford it.....theyve always DOMINATED the sports genre.....even way back on PS1 they had a great reputation for sports......also the PS controllers are perfect for controlling sports games.....

I'd go with the Wii. I've seen the game play for Madden and it seems very cool to be able to move your hand to do specific game moves. I know it will be awkward at first but it looks really awesome. (IE. move both hands back to chest = hike...when running with the ball you can stiff arm with your hand movement)
