Your friend may still be eligible for getting her high school diploma even if she is over age. Check the local community colleges or night schools for enrollment requirements. The college may have some online classes available.

There are so many false claims made online, I'd be very careful. You might at least want to check what you find against Better Business Bureau or department of education to make sure the business is actually accredited in giving GED related courses. I do not know of anyone who can give high-school diploma online, but I may be wrong.

Tell you what... it does take long time to earn GED or anything worthwhile. You could perhaps encourage her to keep on going. Going to high-school itself won't be any easier. I don't know if high school can accept adults, but I can't really see why they can exclude her. She might want to talk to county board of education and see if there are ways, if she wants to still explore it.

Many community colleges do offer FREE courses for adults wanting to get GED. Perhaps that is better choice for your friend. That way, you know, whatever she earns is from a good source.

Personally I haven't heard of getting your high school diploma online before. I would recommend to your friend that she continue trying to get her GED. A friend of mine got his high school diploma equivalent through a program where you had to mail in tests and do everything from home and send it back to them. The problem with that is, not everyone accepts it as they would a GED.
