Republicans ironically have an aristocratic reputation. They have a major stake in keeping themselves wealthy by keeping the poor destitute. They resent upward mobility. They also have the reputation of acting like robber barons and raiding the pension funds of working class families. Enron, Worldcom, and other massive accounting frauds were perpetrated by people who belong to the Republican party.

Democrats are socialists. They go to great lengths to level the playing field. Often the lengths go a bit too far, to the point of reverse-discrimination. They don't believe in doing the greatest good for the most people. They believe in doing the greatest good for the smallest social special interest. The more outrageous the special interest the more dearly they hold onto it.

This is why I'm an Independent. You know the group that attracts ALL the really strange weirdos.

The Republicans have had control of the House, Senate and and the Presidency for 6 years. The president was on vacation while New Orleans was drowning. He has given medal of freedom to the Director of CIA who gave us the Bad inteligence on Iraq. Under his Tsunami of corruption our country is hated by most people around the World....So.... all americans are passengers in the back seat of a car....We have a drunkdriver (the President) driving us around....

We may get the Republic back.... after 5 years of a Bush right wing coup. Defeating them in the House and or the Senate may be our last chance to do this.

Senate is too close to call, but if Republicans win house, means some serious fraud going on.

Republicans want to win the war in Iraq and not pull out too early and concede defeat to the terrorists, doesn't sound unreasonable

I'm not scared because the Republicans will lose Congress tonight.

If they pull off a miracle....it will be more of the same. I'd see no difference at all.

Does the phrase, "Orwellian Police State" mean anything to you? Read George Orwell's "1984" and you will understand.
