that is so annoying - get a new one & spray paint it pink, that should stop any kids/nasty neighbours nicking it again .... though it might upset your nice neighbours

It's just young kids who do it. I had to shout at some ages ago when they were pinching bins in the area where I live (3am in the morning). They legged it of course and when I phoned the Police they wanted descriptions etc. As if I could see in the dark! Complete waste of time. I just wondered how these kids could be out at that time in the morning without their parent's knowledge and why pinch bins when they make such a noise when they are wheeled about? Little barskets!

Millie,
Would it make him any better if he robbed something more valuable from your front garden!
It is an act of desperation and i don't know what they were thinking to be honest with you.
Next time don't leave your bin out side and thank God you have some where to stay, a front garden and a bin!
Amusing story and i'm sorry for your loss

I have a beautiful patch of deep purple irises in my front yard. I was in the pasture next to my house at dusk when I heard a car door slam. Walked up the hill to see who arrived and found some witch digging up my irises. I still have most of them, but she got away with a few. Ironically, If she had asked for a few rhizomes, she could have had them. It's the idea of stealing that irks me.

Never leave anything outside. I live near Detroit and you cant leave anything out or unlocked. Low rent crack heads do what they got to do to get the next rock.
