Its a bad question, but the answer they're probably looking for is 8.

Its not prime numbers as some have suggested, because 1 isn't a prime number. (Prime numbers are 2,3,5,7,11 etc)

It looks like its supposed to be the Fibonacci series, but they've missed off the first 1

The Fibonacci series is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 etc

The answer is b.8, because the next number in the sequence is the sum of the two before it. 10 and 13 don't have any correlation with this sequence. Some people may say 7 as it would appear to be a sequence of prime numbers, but 1 IS NOT a prime number. The definition of a prime number is that it is only divisible by itself and 1 to form a whole number i.e. has two factors. The number 1 only has one, so is separate from this number set.

The answer is 8.

Each term of the series is the sum of the two before it.

1+2 = 3
2+3 = 5
3+5 = 8
