Sounds like he's not ready. And if he's not ready, all the therapy that you arrange won't help him or you. It's time to get real. you don't need anyone to help you be miserable. Let this guy go to do his drugs and go on with your life...unless you're a loser, too.

Send the cops to his place. Judge will make a deal with him to go to drug therapy instead of prison.

look for listing of local support groups and find one that best matches his schedule. Then let him know the time and place he needs to be.
For support you may want to drive him there the first couple times but after that it's up to him if he really wants help and shows up.

He really should be wanted to do this himself, although asking you for help is a started. You should by calling your health insurance provider to check the benefits for substance abuse treatment, and also obtain names of participating providers while your at it. Then call to set up the appointment. : )
Good Luck!

Some hospitals have drug treatment facilities, you may want to call them and check. Even if they dont have one they may be able to point to someplace that does.

Set up an appointment, tell him to get into the car because you're going to the movies-and instead take him to the therapist....

Try calling your local mental health crisis center or a hospital or clinic in your area. They will let you know what to do. Good luck!

i think that it's good that you separated because of his drug habit. unfortunatly, he is the only person that can get the help. he has to want it in order for the treatment to be effective. there is nothing that you can do for him. if he wants the help he can do that himself. in the mean time...you take care of yourself.

You can give him a phone number
and tell him to call you after he's been clean 3 years.
You moved out and on, and I'd keep movin'...

I would Say you need to STOP enabling him! I know that is not what you want to hear but he needs to WANT help and if he actually WANTS help he can find it himself! If he is doing this just for you it won't work any ways......
