I understand that we can gain knowledge from uncovering the lost tombs, but is it really okay to uncover their tombs (where they were supposed to Rest In Peace)? What I really want to ask is... Why shouldn't we dig up graves/tombs? and -What are some cons on digging up lost tombs of Egypt and the Aztecs? thanks

no the research is not worth it. if we were digging up the tombs of the founding fathers of this country people would be up in arms. it is the common "white mans attitude" (i am white by the way) that the beliefs and coltures of everyone else simply do not matter to us. when we put someone in the ground we expect them to be left there for an eternity. not for a few thousand years as a time capsule for some future scientist to dig up and play around with.

the ancients put the bodies of their lost into the tombs for a reason, and i am quite sure that that reason was not for us to dig them up and play house with their remains.

most tombs were robbed a very long time ago. It is a good question and in-fact there is or was Don't know how it was settled over the discovery of a native American body that appeared to be Caucasoid that predated most other finds and the locals tribes sued and said that they had no right to disturb a grave that graves are sacred.
yes they were supposed to rest in peace. I Think there kingdoms and there empires and every thing they had lived for would have been forgot ton. Now they do live forever. Now they are part of history and immortal there lives were not forgotten and they are celebrated.I wouldn't mind being part of history.

If you are asking about archaeology, maybe. We may have to look to the past and their mistakes to avoid making them in our own future. That's science, however and the tombs are treated respectfully. Grave digging is definitely not worth it.
One con on digging up the lost tombs of Egypt and the Aztecs is that we really (sorry scientists) don't know enough about preservation and what our very presence in those tombs may be doing to destroy them.

Grave robbing and archaeology are carried out in massively distinctive techniques and that they serve massively distinctive purposes. Grave robbers often loot so as to coach a earnings on their custom's historic past. there is not any provenance or context to an merchandise as quickly because it is been looted, meaning it is been rendered ineffective to archaeologists. Archaeologists intently checklist discover-spots and attempt, to the ultimate of their know-how, to decrease injury to the positioning. Their objective is to earnings counsel, to no longer benefit a astonishing merchandise. in actuality many archaeologists study issues like nutrition ordinary and commerce routes, that have little to do with graves. (as an occasion, i'm presently digging up fish bones, lithics, and shell products from a Chumash internet site.) all those examine can no longer often be deemed unethical. surely modern-day archaeologists are no longer Indiana Jones. They care approximately context. and that they often do no longer combat Nazis.

I'm not for grave robbing, but it'll be done...so it's better that archaeologists do it in an orderly, somewhat respectful way, than leaving tombs for grave robbers to desecrate and make money from. If you steal stuff, it's better off in a museum than sold to private collectors for a massive profit. It's disrespectful either way, but it's better left to academics than ordinary thieves.

there are already a number of people's remains who have been dug up in the name of research who have not been examined as yet. the dead should in my opinion be left alone unless there is ample reason to believe a crime has been committed
