Anger is a necessary step in resolution and healing.
I suppose you're talking about excessive, uncontrollable anger.
This is something you may need help with from a trained therapist.
If that's not possible, then you need an outlet for it, this could be either physical (yoga would be perfect) or creative (maybe something artistic or educational)
Get yourself into something that is not stressful, something that will not set of your temper.

First deal with the impulse to react. Go for a walk, do something physical, count to 10, keep trying until you know what works for you.

After you have calmed down a little, take it apart in your mind and find the sources, then work on them.

Anger is a combination of fear and frustration. Look for the sources of these first. Then try to change how you are exposed to and/or react to these stressors.

You can't always get rid of Anger, but understanding your process helps you get started.

I tend to bottle it all up and focus it on a tenacious cause such as LIFE! Anger is destructive, but you can use it to your advantage. Just read some laws first so a crime of passionate irrationality doesn't put you in a bad situation. depending on the cause of the anger, you must first assume a responsible view of it. Is it worth being MAD? Do you feel you can't let it go? Biblically, we are supposed to "Not allow the sun to set while we are still angry". I've tried this countless times...and it worked.until I thought about the same waste of time, irrellavent reason to be mad once again.....Ahhhhh....sunset!

Do some exercises. Some times just physically draining yourself helps. Also exercise allows you time to think about what ever you are mad at and push yourself at the same time.

Some great exercises are running, jump roping, and swimming. They are more individual exercises so you won't hurt someone else while doing them.

I resorted to a set of Neuro-Linguistic Programing tapes that were, basically, self-hypnosis and they did wonders for me. I could try to find them and give you specifics if you want but don't remember and am afraid some goon will write me up for some violation of the yahoo rules and policies if I name the maker (even though I sure don't get any compensation for recommending them).

over what? There are different outlets for different hostilities. I prefer to beat the hell out of something...be it a tennis ball, a boxing bag, a golf ball, etc...physical activity to burn it out.
