Because there is not sufficient evidence to indicate people who test positive for narcotics are a danger to the general welfare of the school and its tenants. Also, by testing students a precedent is being set which may pave the road for further privacy violations. Most schools have disciplinary systems that are too strict and do not give the accused sufficient room to defend themselves. This places students in an unfair position. These are children, not adults we are dealing with, correct? The legal framework surrounding school-based drug testing places too much power in the hands of the accusers, and not enough in those of the defendants. Does the phrase innocent until proven guilty mean anything to any of you? Most importantly, what will drug testing in schools accomplish? Do the positives outweigh the negatives? Nope.

It is really no business of the schools. All children deserve an education, regardless of whether they have experimented with drugs. If this seems to be a problem for the child, it is up to the parents to drug test them. By drug testing kids, privacy rights would be thrown out the window along with any hope at staying a free society.

Ehhh. 50/50 thing
It's none of their buiness but kids do not need to be doing drugs it ruins thier brain. I guess it's okay if they have the parents permission. But I think they are being way to strict. I mean I couldn't join band unless my mom and I signed a form saying yes they could test me if they felt like it. So it's a 50/50 thing

So long as they have an appeals process. What if you took an antihistamine because you had an allergic attack of hives? The antihistamine can give false positives for amphetamines. Poppy seed muffins give false positive results for opiates. Someone could "slip" you something in your food, and it would show up. Samples could get switched. This sort of error could follow you your entire life, if it made opportunities not available that would have been otherwise.

But in general, I don't have a problem with it, since I don't do drugs.

They should not drug test because they like students who are altered in their state.

They should not drug test because they trust people who are on drugs.

They should not drug test because they are stupid.

They should not drug test because the safety of the other students is not an issue.

They should not drug test because the kids on drugs never pick up a gun and shoot other students.

They should not drug test because the kids on drugs never try to attack women and rape them...so why care about security.

They should not drug test, ....because you don't care!

They should not drug test because they don't care about the students on drugs...who will overdose anyway so why should we try to help them.

They should not drug test because drugs are ...........that bad...and only kill a few peole.

They should not drug test because who cares about the laws and if it's against the law!

The students should not care about the laws....and who cares about governments...why should anyone care.

Because many kids had done drugs.
The schools can kick them out.
If schools kick them out because of that,
It would be very sad to see their future end up in streets.
Schools can help them to change their life.

There's no reason why they shouldn't. There's going to be people who argue and give BS reasons (i.e. they are invading my privacy by administering a drug test, etc.). And those people do that b/c they have something to hide. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about it.

Because they are underage shouldn't set a precident for losing their individual rights the rest of us have . If they are suspected of being high in school they can be sent home or punished now , no need to change .
