can you play a song that sounds right without a capo somehow? If so which way and how do you do it?

yes you can play just about any song 5 different ways. As long as you know how to find chords you can play a song several different ways. Sometimes its fun coming up with crazy chords just see if you can get the song to come out of them. If you watch live performances by good guitarist you will notice that they play the same song many different ways. Hendrix is a good example watch him play he is always changing things up but still getting that same sort of sound.

if the song is supposed to be played with a capo, then do it. it wont sound right otherwise. but if you dont need a capo, then dont bother, it will only make things difficult

The problem with using a capo is that the dots on the fretboard get all out of whack, and that's not fun, get's confusing. Capos suck, streching and strengthening your fingers rules.

I play without one all the time and yep it sounds good...just depends on what you are playing but you are right I have noticed more and more female artists using capos..
