To get from South Dakota to Canada by the most direct route would require you to drive from the northern border of South Dakota across the state of North Dakota to the Canadian border.

North Dakota is 210 miles north to south - so, your drive from South Dakota to Canada could be as little as 210 miles plus a few yards.

Meanwhile, from Sioux Falls South Dakota, on the eastern edge of So. Dak., to Gary, Indiana, on the western edge of Indiana, is about 610 miles.

With the information you have provided, it should take about three times as long to get from So. Dak. to Indiana as it would take to get from S. Dak. to Canada.

i think it would be about the same. i didn't look up miles and what not, but that seems really like the same distance....but then again i guess it depends on where you're going in canada as opposed to indiana

depends what part of Canada. southern Manitoba and Sasketchewan are probably closer than Indiana. Parts of Ontario and Alberta may be, too.
