Is it the fact that she let herself go by not bothering about what she looks like? Could someone explain it to me? Was Britney only referred to as this once she hooked up with Kevin Federline?

Right.. so she was regarded as trailer trash from the very beginning.. I didn''t realise that.. she always seemed prim and proper to me in the beginning

Britney has always been classed as trailer trash because she was brought up on a trailer park. I guess it's a bit worse than been described as a chav- more like a pikey chav.

Dirty/Not Bathing
Wearing shoddy looking clothes
Sleeping around begining at a young age
Living in a trailer!
Dating a really older guy/girl
Dating a cousin or brother or relative!
Drinking the cheapest most disgusting beer

Britney has always been called "trailer trash", it's just a derogatory term to call her white Southern trash. It doesn't have as much to do with her looks as her money, like she's a Beverly Hillbilly who just "happened" upon it.

To be honest i get confused with this 'trailer trash' comments. I am English and when i hear this remark i think its refers to people who live in a trailer who don't have much money. Reminds me of M&M film. I guess our equivalent is a chav altho chavs dont live in caravans. It sounds a bit mean to pick on somoene cos they dont have much money and live in a trailer...........i am sure there must be nice trailer ppl surely?

You've seen 'trailer trash' without even knowing it probably. Just walk into a Wal-Mart and you'll see plenty of examples of what people refer to as 'trailer trash'.
