It is more likely to happen if you have seen the movie before reading the book.

I thought Adaptation was better than the book The Orchid Thieves but the movie is not really about the story in the book.

MASH the movie was better than the book which I read after the movie.

I think that the ENGLISH PATIENT was a better movie than book because of the amazing actors in the movie, and because the book was hard to understand. So it was better to watch the movie, cause made more sense. Thats just my opinion though =)

no, i always thought that the book was better than the movie because the book always told more and sometimes the director of the movie doesn't always follow the story line. i can't think of a book that was turned into a movie and the movie was better.

Although "Silence of the Lambs" came close, there does not exist a movie that is better than the book on which it was based.

As J.W. Eagan once said, "Never judge a book by its movie."

The Bourne Identity.

I tried reading the book, but it was SO convoluted and boring. It just dragged on and on.

The movie version was MUCH more succinct, and to the point.

I'd nominate 'The Enemy Below'. It's a WW II story about the dual between a German U-Boat and a US Destroyer (movie) or British Corvette (book). Both were great.
