Well with the liberal Republicans in the Senate,
the libs might be able to muster veto overide,
but seriously doubt it. You need 2/3.

What you libs don't realize, is you may have the majority, but no more power. Congress will be deadlocked. Any bs bill you pass will be narrowest of margins and Bush will veto.

So your upset with Bush, Chamberlain was tossed from office after saving the U.K. during WWII. I guess I should buy my guns now, before the libs try to pass laws...no I forgot, I still live in a Red State....Sorry about you others.
Were all still Americans, even though some are misguided. If anyone out there thinks the Government can do more for you, than you can yourself, you a fool. Godd going though..

Chamberlain was the liberal equivalent.

The President and the Congress will both have to make compromises which is what always happens when the two are of opposite parties. If Bush vetoes all of the bills, Congress will not push through any of the legislation he proposes. That is what always happens in this type of circumstance. .So no, you will not be "safe".

Safe?

He has to go through Congress to get any money! He can't pass a spending bill, only Congress can! Cut off the money and see what thet does to ole Bush!

Nov. 7, 2006 — In the Democrats' quest to take over the House and even the Senate, they're hoping voters will echo a sentiment voiced so succinctly in the movie "Network" — "I'm fed up and not going to take it anymore."

Early exit polls show the majority of voters are fed up with the status quo. Six in 10 who cast their ballot today said they disapproved of the way President Bush was handling his job.

Paul Derby, a Virginia voter, is a Democrat's dream come true. "I guess I voted against the Iraq war. That was the main thing, and against the [Republican-controlled] Congress and the Senate both. I think they are both broke and need to be fixed."

The war in Iraq is on many voters' minds. ABC's preliminary exit polls found that nearly six in 10 voters disapproved of the war. Approval of the war was higher — at 51 percent — the last time the nation went to the polls two years ago and re-elected Bush to another term.

As always, you think you're correct.

First off, as far as the UK being "helped" by America, the Americans did not come in until we were attacked at Pearl Harbor and all because "Roosevelt" was a lying, sniveling coward. He was messing with Churchill and lying to him on several occasions - gee, there's a real shock "lying".

The British fought this war on their own till the very end, so please, stop with all the crap talk of how they would have spoke German and how great we were coming in, it's all a LIE.

As far as us being safe, did you all forget about 2 months ago when BRITAIN, yes Britain closed down the major airports to save us Americans from being hit by yet more planes. I think if I'm not mistaken, BUSH was in office when that happened, but you brains will say how it's been so much safer since he has been in office and no other attacks have taken place. The UK stopped another attack from happening. I can name other times, but I don't have time to play history this past 6 years.

Stay in denial all you want, it's your style.

Get some of your facts straight before talking and if he decides to veto everything, he is being his "usual" charming self and he will - as always - make things worse for everyone instead of better. His best bet would be to compromise like any healthy, mature adult would do. It will be his fault if he continues in this childish, know-it-all manner.

Yes, you are safe, and consider this congress won't be a rubber stamp for Bush either, even imagine if you can, the government will work with checks and balance for the first time in 6 years. Wonderful concept isn't it, it is called compromise.

Look at the polls, not too many people are happy with Bush right now. You are in the minority.

As far as being safe, do you assume that everyone on yahoo is a Republican? That's not to swift there, buddy. We'll be safe when the Dems take over the House tonight. :)
