First you have to go to Microsoft.com and search for resume templates in the office download section. Download them and they usually tell you what to type in place of what is already there.

Open Word
Under Help > Microsoft Office Word Help
A pane should open up on your right.
Under File > New
The pane should now display several options , choose Under Templates > On My computer
A window should show up, click on the "Other Documents" Tag.
You will see a variety of resume templates to work from. Click on either. It will open up in your Word program
File > SAVE AS to a folder before editing.

I believe if you go to File-New-you can choose "other documents" and there are some resume templates there.

If you go to microsoft's website there are resume templates there too.
