Maybe through United Way?

Try calling your local YMCA, womans shelter, hospitals, etc. There are so many people who can't afford to give their children a great Chirstmas, and while I think they do better than the rest of us (all they have is love for each other) its tough to be a kid whos parents can't afford gifts. The Marine Corps run the toys for tots drive every year. Locally here in NY the Chamber of Commerce runs an adopt a family program. They provide you with a list of every member of the familys sizes for clothing and the ages of the children so you can give toys as well. We don't have alot of money, we work hard, and my children 11, 9, and 8 love to participate in this ( my boys the older children) remember what it was like when they were younger and they know that Mom and Dad could'nt get them expensive gifts they were always little troopers and they want to help kids in need even if it means they get less. Kudos to you for trying to make Christmas a little brighter for someone else, and good luck!

Are you having problems finding a child or figuring out what is Christmas all about?

Look next door to where you live first!

Who nearby you won't have much of a Christmas this year.

One person with gifts and a turkey says a lot of things to the whole world!

There's also gotta be a "shelter" near you where they serve Christamas Dinner to everyone and anyone who needs cooks, servers and clean up people!

My favorite to do every year is through Samaritan's Purse. It is called 'Operation Christmas Child'. You fill a shoe box with all sorts of essentials and fun stuff and send it along with a small amount of money to cover shipping. You would need to look into this right away because they need them all gathered in November so they can inspect them all (I know, it is sad to think that someone might put something harmful in something like that) and load them on airplanes that are also donated and fly them to many hurting countries. Go to Samaritanspurse.org for more info.
We also give presents to the Angel tree through our church .

I love the one person's suggestion of looking next door. God Bless you for reminding us all! May you all have a Blessed Christmas!

Check with United Way, here in michigan they work with iour family seervices to help out low income families. Also try churches, chamber of commerce, the salvation army, or any other local charities. Also check with you local girl scouts or boy scouts they might be able to get you in touch with someone who needs help. Also look up your lacal family service agency, public health department and other places that help those in need. This is a great thing you are doing.

I have found the best way is to get in touch with local Churches. They are in touch with the community and some know of the families in need personally.

Merry Christmas!

Our local hospital and Wal-Mart puts up a "Giving Tree" every year with ornaments on it with names of needy kids in the area. I would try there. God Bless you for doing this and have a wonderful holiday season!

Get in touch with the Salvation Army. That's a big part of what they do during the holidays.
