Just look at who the winners and losers were;
Winners: Yankees, Presbyterians, Low Church Anglicans, Supporters of a Republic, small industrialists, the Maritime sector, backers of Westward Expansion. LOSERS: High Church Anglicans, The established church, Monarchy, Aristocracy, Royal Placemen, Mercantilesm, Coastal residents who looked backwards accross the Atlantic. The effects were huge.

Not much because the revolution was not against the English system of laws but against the King accused of violating those laws. Americans adopted their system of laws and set up a government based on the same set of English laws. So there was really not much of a change.
