Far too often now, I'm still getting calls from pollers and telemarketers. I can tell that it's them... when I pick up the phone, it's about a 5 second delay before someone answers, and even then they say my name wrong. My home phone and my cell phone are on the Do Not Call list... I signed them up 3 months ago.

Can someone tell me what's going on here? Has anyone done an investigation?

Get the name of their companies by acting interested, then report them.

If they are calling for political candidates or similar polls, that's one of the exempted (allowed) categories.

Other than that, the companies may well be violating the DNC. It happens. Which is why there is a number to call to report them.

Great ideas, both.

Meanwhile, get caller ID and an answering machine. And if a caller doesn't identify himself, let the answering machine take it. That will take a lot of stress off you!
