Add seven to both sides:
m/6 = 7 + 2/3

Convert to mixed fraction:
m/6 = 23/3

Multiply both sides by 6:
m = 23/3 * 6
m = 23 * 2
m = 46

m/6 - 7= 2/3
Group like terms. move -7 across = sign
remember -7 can be written as -7/1 (same as -7) to make it simple.
re-arranging equation we have m/6 = 2/3 + 7/1. -7 becomes 7 (sign changes when moved across =. -ve to +ve and vice versa) least common multiple of 3 and 1 is 3. so m/6 = (2 + 21)/3 . m/6 = 23/3. Multiple both sides of equation by 6 to cancell out 6 on the left and leave m alone
m= 23/3 x 6. Same as (6 x 23)/3, simplifying further m = 23 x 2, (since 6/3 = 2)
m = 46

m/6 - 7 = 2/3

Here you would first clear the fractions by multiplying both sides of the equation by their LCD, which is 6

6(m/6) - 6(7) = 6(2/3)
m - 42 = 4 {simplify}
m = 46 {add 42)

Check

46/6 - 7 = 2/3
23/3 - 21/3 = 2/3
2/3 = 2/3

first get rid of the denominators.

You can do so by multiplying everything by a number.

In this case it would be 6 because 6 = 6 x 1 and 6 = 2 x 3, in other words 6 is a common multiple of 6 and 3.

thus we do

6*(m/6 - 7) = 6*(2/3)

which is

6*(m/6) - 6*7 = 6*(2/3)

which is

m - 42 = 4

solve for m by adding 42 on both sides

m = 46

First add 7 to both sides:

m/6 = 7 + 2/3

Then multiply both sides by 6:

m = 42 + 12/3
m = 42 + 4
m = 46

simple...m/6-7=2/3......add 7 to both sides...m/6=7+2/3...then multiply both sides by 6...and the answer is m=42+12/3...so m=46... Any questions? lol

m is usually the slope of a line (unless you don't have a line...)

if you don't have a line, then:

m/6=7.6
m=46

The way I got this answer is I added 7 to both sides (canceling it out on one side)

Then I multiplied both sides by six to get rid of the 6 on the other side, therefore getting 46 as the final answer.

Hope this helps!!

6(m/6) - 6(7)=6(2/3)
m - 42 = 4
m= -42 +4
m= - 38
