Knowing the right stance at the right time. The 3 stances are Authoritarian, Democratic, and Laize Faire (sp?). Authoritarian is an extremely rigid militaristic approach which would be benifitial in a dangerous situation, say scolding your child when they're playing with a knife. Next Democratic is the child has equal say in it as you, say having a choice of dinner as an example. Finally Laize Faire is a style which the child is in controll of their own destiny, which can be dangerous at times will allow the child to experience life through their own mistakes, say sports or anything that isn't potentially dangerous.

There is no healthy parenting without the parent really loving their child and knowing what is best for them. a parent has to be there for their child not as only a parent but as a friend as well, and has to be a good parent overall and know right from wrong with their child. u have to like ur parents and have a good relationship with them based on communication, honesty, and trust
