im not entirelay sure...well i guess nobody is so im just wing it okay.
the meaning of life is that you are....well....a mortal being living in a universe that never ends in a v.small planet that has beem given the name "earth".you are 1 person in a galaxy of probably an infinity of other persons(if aliens truly do exist and there are other dimensions...)your job in life is to try to make the 1 world u live in a better place....or it could be the opposite......or you could have nothing to do with this world and are just a figment of a person/lifeform's imangination......OR you could be a small nonintellectual object that has only 1 purpose of life.....die...or you could be that and ur purpose would b 2 decorate a home in another dimension of another galaxy.
there is an infinity of meanings of life. and there is no possible way to know them at all....even god probably could not figure out the infinite possibilities of the meaning of life.
and if there is only 1 meaning of life then it is the one true cure 4 every disease, the 1 solution to every problem, the 1 and only way to have an absolutely perfect life, the only meaning of life.
therefore there is no meaning of life and there also is only 1 meaning of life.....it just depends on if the human race lives long enough to figure it out.(highly unlikely)
THE END :)

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

I've ask that question on myself a millionth time. At age 51 I think I have realized some basic and meaningful answers. It will really depend on your basic choice :
1. Life means choosing to be a good person and letting God provide you with the spirituality to live that decision -- at the end, everlasting life is a bonus !
2. Life means choosing evil and letting the Enemy provide a good life in this world -- at the end, everlasting misery beginning from the time you choose to be bad.
3. Life means not choosing to be good or bad -- the worst place you could ever be because God or Satan would not be proud of your decision.
I've been struggling to choose #1 but definitely I won't be dealing with #2 and #3. So far, its been an exciting life for me. You just give your best effort to stay on track.

Putting religion and science aside, this is what i believe.
Imagine 'nothing', absolute nothing, obviously this is kind of impossible but we can have an idea (i think of outer space).
Now imagine not even realizing there is nothing, i mean, imagine you are not even concious of it- like missing a whole day coz you've been knocked out..
Now, we know there is something, there is earth, there is civilization..now doesn't that make you feel kinda lucky that you're not in the first two situations above..?
By some miracle, scientific or not, we've somehow been given this fleeting chance to be concious and aware of, well, the earth that we live in..and life..
so the meaning is this, we've been somehow given an opportunity, make the most of it...

I wouldn't get to hung up on it. My advice is lead a life you find fulfilling, be nicer to people than they are to you and try, maybe in some small way, leave a world in a better state than when you found it.
If, for example, someone was unexpectedly killed in a freak incident tomorrow, what would people think about them at their funeral, would it be what they wanted people to think about them??
If you do this I think you will a least conform to some key teachings of the main faiths.
If you choose religion, I think you might be right, you might be wrong, you will only find out when you die!! Only then will you find out if your Sundays Saturdays or Fridays were well spent, or not!!
Its funny, no one produces an easy guide to help you decide what religion is best for you, most people take their parents religion, maybe Which magazine could cover it!!

If i want to said the meaning of life fully means, this page is not enof. But its very simple.
Meaning of life depends upon the people,i.e if people wants to really enjoy the life means, there must be a happiness as well as sorrows. Then only u can able to recognise both the things. But if sorrows happened means don stick on this. Then this ll struck Ur life too much. That's also depends on people..
That's y I'm saying Meaning of LIFE depends on People.
Hope for the best..

Tough one..........My take on it though is. Your born.....You die. Life is in between the two. Family helps shape the first few years. School and friends and society help to shape you for another few. After that your with your own thoughts and you can make just about anything imaginable happen up until the last marker is reached. Could be today, might be tomorrow. Might not be for a few decades. Life is your conscious perception of the reality that surrounds you. Now go and enjoy it well you have it! Not you or me or any scientist can prove or can know what lies beyond our consciousness. Life is a.....................You pick. It's yours. (but sure is nice to share)

Life is just a series of random occurrences. Stop looking for a meaning, it could be dangerous, you could end up religious or a vegetarian and how pointless would that be? Life is the Chaos theory, eventually in chaos you get something resembling order. It's just an illusion, it really is just chaos. Just enjoy and don't waste it.

What a silly question. We all know why we are here. To sit for hours and hours answering and asking questions on Yahoo so that we can gloat, like Misers, over the number of points we have accumulated.
And when we are not doing that endulging in the less enjoyable persuit of Sexual Intercourse.

your life is composed of events from the day you are born until the day you pass away. your body is certainly composed of electrical factions, which outlive the body. i believe that the 'afterlife' is a culmination of a lifetimes memories; and it is almost as if you relive these events over and over for eternity.
therefore the purpose in life is to make the most of the time you have, and attempt to create as many positive memories as possible, whilst avoiding the negative.
whether you disagree with the first bit or not-it is difficult to oppose the latter.
