Whenever a guy displays traditional, old-school chivalry towards me, I get nothing enjoyable out of it. No, I wasn't raised by feminist militants, but I just, well, don't feel anything. It can even get a tad annoying at times. Any guesses as to why I might be feeling this way? I don't want to hurt his feelings, but ... ?

My friend had this problem- she said it made her feel like the guys thought she was helpless, and she didn't want to feel weak & helpless. If this is you, just be thankful for these men, they are showing you honor & respect. (Which I'm sure you deserve!)

I would imagine it has something to do with your male role models. Think about your father, stepfather, grandfather, uncles, brothers.... which of these are your favorites? People you look up to, admire, or whom you idealize as the perfect type of man... those guys may just not be that type. Maybe they are the strong, silent type, rugged hunters, jocks, etc... and you unintentionally see the catering, romantic type of man as being somewhat un-masculine.
That would be my guess, not knowing you.

you got walls on you dear, walls are good for not getting hurt, but put a little faith in people he might not be just acting that way because he wants something from you, he might just be acting that way to be polite.

Maybe because you are just so used to doing things for yourself you resent it a little cause it may make you feel like he thinks that you can't do those things? or maybe you just don't like him that much?? who knows!

You are fortunate in knowing exactly what annoys you or leaves you cold.
However the trick is knowing exactly what you want not what you don't want. Good luck in finding it.

Maybe you perceive it as obsequiousness and grovelling behavior. My husband was like that and sometimes I felt like yelling, "Just leave me alone."

sounds like he's way older then you.
Time to split, it's not going to work out.
