The appearance of the singer/songwriter makes absolutely no difference to me in how much I like a piece of music.

However, there are performers/entertainers who are also great musicians and then there are entertainers whose music is weak. Some people go for the glitz and find that fun, and in this case appearance would probably be an important element.

well, i am a woman and i think that if songs have sucky lyrics, then they flat out suck...
even if the male singer is 'hot'.
on the other hand, i appreciate good lyrics no matter who writes them.
for example, i believe the singer from himsa [johnny pettibone] writes really good lyrics and he's not exactly pete wentz.
[even though i do not find this pete wentz character to be attractive in any way--although many women do--nor do i listen to fall out boy......buuut you get what i'm saying]

This is not a true statement. Music lyrics are very meaningful to me because I can memorize them very quickly, so if I am listening to bad, empty lyrics I get easily bored. i like a challenge, something deep. I believe that song lyrics are poetry and they should be treated as such... I don't care what the singer looks like, that is for sure.

I like sucky lyrics and deep lyrics. Doesn't matter what the singer looks like as long as they can sing sucky or deeply.'

i would have to say..........Deep ones from not so attractive singers. no ti doesnt influence what i think of the song. Marilyn Manson is the only exception. i do not like him at all! lol! although there are alot of hot guys who have alot of great songs! they are just country singers! i love all genres of music except for death metal. That relentless screaming gets to me.

deep lyrics usually. but I'd have to agree with that under 19 thing the other person said. That is, unless its a stoner girl.
Why are you asking? r u an ugly musician? :)

I think it completely depends on the age group the music is marketed/most suitable for.

Pre-teen/teen? Looks definitely matter.
