Patricia Cornwell's book is terrible, and she slanders the artist Sickert with little meaningful proof. Likewise there is no evidence that the ripper was related to the royal family.

A good book on this is Patricia Cornwell's Portrait of a Killer: Jack the Ripper Case Closed.

She presents a very good case with lots of research and presents Jack as really being a world-famous artist Walter Sickert.

I've also read some great stuff that presents the perp as being part of the royal family.

I would go for either of these. Still not sure though.
