Making something illegal does not make it go away, it only financially strengthens the criminals that are willing to risk selling them for a hyper inflated profit. IOW, instead of 3 bucks/pack, it'll be about 50bucks/pack, and those who smoke will have to deal with a criminal underground network inorder to get them.

Jails will end up with more people, the cops will waste MORE time busting people, courts will be backed up even MORE, and good people will lose their homes, their jobs, and their freedoms.

Vices shouldn't be made illegal. They should be taxed and regulated so that the government can prosper off other people's wants. We have the right to do whatever we want to our bodies, including damaging it.

Why not outlaw Bungee jumping, sky diving, driving, flying, or anything else that someone might can hurt themselves with?

No, people who smoke know the health risks. Outlaw it and more people will do it for the thrill of breaking the law.

yes and no. yes because other people's careless actions can result in many health conditions for those who have never even smoked. No because they will still do it, marijuana is illegal but people still smoke weed. i think personally yes it should be outlawed.

I'm not sure if it should be illegal, but I do think it should be banned in all public places. If you want to simultaneously ruin your health, eliminate your sex appeal, empty your wallet and support huge corporations that don't give a damn about well-being then go right ahead. But I don't think non-smokers should not have to be subjected to other's nasty habits.

Make the sale of cigarettes illegal. We need to give the next generation a chance to live smoke free.

Can you imagine how dull and structured your existence would be if all vices - tobacco, alcohol, etc.) were to be made illegal?

And, make no mistake, once the door to legislating personal behavior is cracked open............

depends. in public it should, but otherwise i don't care... they can kill themselves all they want, but when they start killing everyone else, it becomes a problem.
