I really enjoy debating and arguing topics such as right and wrong. I like writing and reading and I have a top notch memory. I also lack empathy and pity. So would law school be worth it? I want to make a nice amount of money.

Law school opens a lot of doors, including the FBI, CIA and the other government agencies mentioned above.

You must realize that in law school there is very little debating and arguing of topics. You will do a load of reading and writing though.

Further, you should realize that an attorney is ultimately a counselor to his or her client and MUST have some empathy or pity or your clients will not be happy. You will need to be able to identify with your client's position and support it and believe in it to be sucessful.

I would really consider what your options are. Remember that law school can cost over $100,000, and unless you go to a top law school or graduate at the very top of your class, you aren't looking at that great of a salary (average is $60,000/year)

Good luck!

Probably not, but if you do you should be absolutely certain you know what you're doing before you do it.

A very small minority of lawyers actually go into court and argue things. Those that do are on average underpaid compared to those that don't. The problem for those that don't is that their jobs involve reading dense documents looking for minutiae. Its actually a really dull job and I know quite a few people that hate it.

The real problem is that once they have all the debt from law school, they have no real alternative to being a lawyer.

I know quite a few people that were wondering what to do after college and decided to go to law school without any real desire to be a lawyer. Now they hate their lives. Ironically, their financial situation would be a lot better if they just found a job they enjoyed.

If you are just doing it for the money, DON'T!!!!

Lawyer might or might not be a very dumb job.

but law school could be interesting and a law degree would open the door to a lot of better jobs that you might not otherwise get.

Who really knows.

couldn't hurt.
