Bugsy!

"And if you ever come back, could you pick up dinner
I can't get off this couch, it's been this way for weeks now
And if you ever come back, could you bring a pizza
It's getting late; I'm getting kind of hungry..."

I think it works both ways, if you claim there is no god then provide evidence to support your claim, if you claim there is a god, then provide evidence to support your claim. after which point the person who is being shown the evidence will either accept or deny the validity of the evidence. since you cannot know everything or even a single fundamental truth about anything, you will ultimately make your determination on faith, be it your interpretation of the evidence or an alternate theory also supported by your interpretation of the evidence. To say that there is or is not a god is both a positive claim, because you are essentially claiming how the universe came to be. Unfortunately, rather then any intelligent discussions into the matter, the entire debate has become a logically circular mud slinging match between dogmatic fundamentalists on both sides of the coin unwilling to listen to any alternative interpretations of said evidence if they go against their established belief structure. As Sherlock Holms once said, the evidence is never at fault, only our interpretations of the evidence.
