THEY PROBABLY HAVEN'T SEEN ENOUGH OF THAT SPECIFIC RACE TO IDENTIFY ANY DIFFERENCE. ALSO, IT COULD JUST BE OUT OF PURE IGNORANCE AND THEY JUST AUTOMATICALLY THINK THAT THEY LOOK A CERTAIN WAY BASED OFF OF STEREOTYPES.
EXAMPLE- THEY THINK ALL BLACKS HAVE WIDE NOSES....NOT TRUE
THEY THINK ALL BLACKS ONLY HAVE BLACK HAIR... NOT TRUE
THEY THINK BLACKS ONLY HAVE BROWN EYES... NOT TRUE
THEY THINK ALL BLACKS HAVE BIG LIPS... NOT TRUE EITHER
I THINK YOU GET THE POINT. ALSO HOW CAN WE LOOK ALIKE WHEN WE HAVE SO MANY DIFFENT SHADES OF SKIN COLOR.
WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY REALLY SEE WHEN THEY LOOK AT US

Because they do. Know that there are certain features that only certain races have. Some of those features are quite common, such as blue eyes among true blondes and wider noses among blacker races(exception to the people of India.) We only have three basic skull structures; There is the *******, Caucasoid, and Mongoloid. Certain groups of people just look alike. It's not racism...it's the truth.

Because I guess when you don't have enough exposure or communication with people from certain races, you get to thinking they all look the same. Ethnic and racial similarities doesn't mean that they all look alike. But I guess some people want to see it that way, they can.

It is simply a lack of exposure to people of that ethnicity. I grew around mostly white kids, so it took me a while not to think most black people looked alike. Yet when I went to Malawi in Africa, they think all white people look alike. They call us "mazungu" which means wanderer. In other words, every time they see a white person, it seems like the same person. They wonder what that person is doing wandering around like that. Mazungu!

1. They are not used to seeing as many people of (whatever ethnic group) as their own;
2. There tends to be more variation among caucasians in terms of hair, eye color, so it could be argued that caucasians are used to seeing a lot of variation. So when they encounter a group with less variation in hair/eye color, those people seem to look more similar.
3. Some people (of all races) really do look similar. I've mixed up two blonde girls, two black girls, two asian girls---etc. It's nothing personal.
