what kind of acid do you use were do you get it and is this the easiest way of extracting it

Any acid will do. The stronger the faster it will react to form the Hydrogen.

Collecting (I suggest displacing water) is harder. Collect the bubble in a sealed container with the only way for the H to go out is through a tube that bubbles into a container with water in it (up side down [H is lighter than air]). The H will push the water out into a pan with water already in it to keep the water in the inverted container.
