My friend just called me an "over-intelligent idiot" is this a compliment or an insult.
More to the point is this even English.

I'm putting it to a vote, then i'll take the appropriate action.

Donna M- No sweetie, this is another male friend, who has come round to annoy me.
The one you're thinking of called me a prostitute yesterday though, that definitely deserves a slap.

Joshua, i have asked him and the git just keeps grinning at me.

He is by the way sitting here awaiting the outcome. And looking slightly worried now..

If that's who I think it is, I can only advise that you SLAP HIM!

Well Angel - remember in the playground how the boys that were most horrible to you actually secretly fancied you. I shall say no more!

Many intelligent people are also idiots. They can have A levels in subjects but need an A level in life. As a Doctor of Medicine at The Micky Mouse Hospital, I, myself an idiot, can only interpret your friends remark as a compliment.

You're putting it to a vote, and on the basis of the outcome you'll take the appropriate action?????

Wouldn't it be easier to ask him (or her) what he meant by it, and base you action on the answer HE gives, instead of on the answers from total strangers??

It probably was some of those stupid things you say (but don't really mean) when you're annoyed.

OHHH give him a big cuddle, he's just a big Buffoon.

I think he was complimenting you on some strange level. And he's still hanging around like a puppy dog wanting attention.

Only slap him if he wees on the floor.

It's an insult, and linked to the power game of interpersonal relationships.

It is English, but bad english, and doesn't make sense.

It isn't supposed to.

It worked.

You are thinking about him.

Take Care, and Good Luck!

I think it was a joke! Besides, why don't you ask him. No one here would know the real answer and our relationship specs! Good luck and don't slap friends for nothing

Since it's a complete oxymoron, he's clearly not intelligent enough to have a worthwhile opinion so slap him for being stupid.
