What should Nascar do?

They issued an indefinite suspension and a $10K fine to the crewmember. Evernham says they will not appeal. Full story below. As to what they SHOULD do...tricky here. The whole deal started on the track with a little "tit-for-tat" payback between Riggs and Harvick, which ended when Harvick pulled up tight on Riggs bumper and pulled the air off him making him loose and causing him to crash hard into the wall. The real issue is that the on-track disagreement spilled over into a full scale ruckus in the pits and a NASCAR official and Harvick's wife got caught up in it. NASCAR has a long history of post-race incidents but they normally are driver to driver or involve just the crew. With an official and a wife being involved the fines/punishment have to be more severe. We wouldn't tolerate this on a football field or a basketball court, if NASCAR is serious about being a premiere sporting event, they can't tolerate it at the track either.

Well if you read the latest, Harvick admitted to bumping Riggs then admitted to talking trash to the crew members in the pits. Harvick even said that Riggs wouldn't let him by so he moved him out of the way. He also said that was common to talk trash after a race. NOW looks like Harvick needs to be a man and do what I would do if someone knocked my wife down. They go through this sissy drama week after week. Somebody bumps somebody on the track, then after the race they push and shove, Nascar calls them in the trailer then they promise not to retaliate next week. If you are not willing to fight you probably shouldn't bump another driver at 200mph and you dam sure don't need to talk trash to them after the race. How many times has Kurt Bush bumped Tony Stewart in the last three years? Also ask Benny Parsons what would have happened if that had been Buddy Baker twenty years ago.

They have already done something about it....fined the crew member $10K and suspended him indefinitely. I am not a KH fan BUT that crew member was way out of line. The team isn't even appealing the punishment because they know the guy was wrong.

What exactly happened? All I saw was Harvick complaining, but I didn't know what he was talking about.

I think the Evernham employee is either looking for a job or will be very soon.
