okay so i want to go to college and major in one of these but i dont know which one to go to. Im not a good drawer/illustrator on paper. but i love doing things on the computer like on photoshop and stuff, i can do some pretty good things. I heard that for graphic design you have to be good at art? like drawing and stuff. I like making websites too but doesnt that require you to make graphics for it? I dont know which one would be best for me..hmm

Graphic design is about pictures.

If you are bad at drawing then it's not your thing.

Given your research skills web design may not be for you either.

I do both Web and print design and think i can help you answer this question. In general, Graphic Design is usually related to print and art created via a computer. Web design is art strictly for the web, such as web templates, graphics etc. If you are definitely wanting to do only web design, i suggest you take any classes related to web design and theory, as well as classes on programs such as Fireworks, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. These are the main tools that web designers use today

Graphic design is the more traditional label (e.g. pre computers). Graphic design generally deals with design on various mediums, including print, television and digital media. Web design is a very specific type of design focusing on designing web sites. Graphic design teaches the fundamentals of graphic design - from layout, to color, to typography and imagery.

Graphics design can be for any format - printed, screen etc etc - often highly detailed and complex - ranges from food packaging to computer games to telelvison graphics and films.

Web design has to be tailored to a product be small scale and involve learning code and flash etc etc. they are pretty different although there are areas of overlap.
