I am in my late 20s and my husband is in early 30s and he acts like its the end of the world if I want to go somewhere. He works all the time and i stay at home all the time w/ our kids and i want to get dolled up and go somewhere. He doesnt seem to enjoy anything anymore but deer hunting. I am so ready for hunting season to be over. We already have 1200.00 worth of stuffed deer on our wall why cant he just do something with us? We dont get to go out by ourselves but maybe once a year and anymor its not as exciting as it were when we first started dating. Just wondering if any other couples have as spouse like this and if so can you get them to enjoy life and quit acting like their old folks?

My idea of having fun isnt necessary going somewhere to spend money I can look without spending where he puts it on plastic whether we have the money or not. I love doing anything when it comes to our kids. I like going for drives out in the county. I would really like for the 2 of us to have 1 night together but he is so boring unless we are doing something that interest him so see men not all women want to spend all your money to have fun!

Ok...this is a very easy question to answer. Why wait for him to do something together? If you want to go do something then do it. You don't necessarily need him. Although it may be great. But if he doesn't want to go then leave him. Gather your girlfriends and go and have a good time without him. If he wants to go hunting then so be it. You need your own activities just like he has his.

Nope, don't have this problem. We don't do THAT much stuff that's "exciting" by other people's standards - like nightclubs, parties, drinking, rock-climbing, surfing, etc. But we do a lot of quiet geeky things that we both enjoy, and it's great. Couple of times a year we go on a trip together. There are a few things that he loves, and I find absolutely boring - techie stuff, tradeshows, airplanes; or, I love dancing, and he hates it; but, some things we just have to agree to disagree on. It would be kind of a problem if ALL he wanted to do was the techie stuff and the trade shows; but luckily he does find the time to do things with me, perhaps it's because we both enjoy the same kinds of things, so it's easy to find common ground.

Agree with Alrozz.. people want their cake and eat it too! My ex did it to me! It wasn't until I actually found someone new and moved on that he stopped pursuing me whilst STILL with the girl that he cheated on me with. He wanted both of us! To Hope... you may have not had councelling as a kid, but you could have gone and gotten it as an adult when you were having the thoughts of sleeping with other men before you went and ruined your husbands life. You may have been able to work it out and stay together, but he will never ever be able to fully trust you again. You have done that to him and he will forever carry it with him now. I am very sorry for what you went through as a child... but there is never EVER any excuse for cheating on a partner. Whatever the reasons, you had control over your body and you knew what you were doing was wrong. You could have seeked help at any time.

You may need to remind him that the stuffed deer may not be going anywhere, but his little dear needs to get some alone time so she stays put. Tell him the marriage license should come before the hunting license!!

You make the reservation, book the babysitter then tell him "we're going out tonight dear!" That's how.
