Mr. Jones.

If Mr. Smith drives the Dodge and has $100,000,000 down at First Republic and Mr Jones drives the Lexus he is making the payments on from his job at Winn-Dixie the great unwashed masses will all think Mr. Jones has the most money no matter how they answer the SAT. Because what they think of Mr. Smith and Mr. Jones outside the testing room is what they really think. And what the great multitude thinks is all that matters. They answer Mr. Smith on the SAT because that appears to be the correct answer. Not because they really believe it. So they will answer C on the SAT then go out to the parking lot and get into there own 2006 Lexus they're making payments on and drive back to their .... APARTMENT !

The reality is that most very nice cars are driven by people who are making the payments on them. And almost by definition, people who make car payments almost always don't have very much money. ("money" meaning accumulated wealth, not income.)

But that is the reality. In USA your IMAGE is your reality. So, the SAT answer is C.

But the only answer that matters in the mind of the public is A.

Since this question is not a math question, nor a Critical reading, nor writing one, it would not, in fact, appear on the SATs/ACTs. The standardized test are written to have 1 clear, standard, right answer and 3 (or 4) wrong ones.

haha duh, c, cant tell. mr jones might live in the projects, but has a nice ride. mr smith may have just bought him a bomb *** house and decided it wasn't worth spending a bunch of money on a car-- no one can "house-jack" you. a car is one of the worst investments you can make.

The answer would probably be C. There is no proof showing who is wealthiest.
