Yes, I believe they should come with batteries. Dont ever give a child a toy unless the batteries are already included, or you have went out and purchased them yourself. Happy Holidays! Hey I'm starting early, lol.

For a person who does not mind spending 'the outrageous price 'amount for the toy being reluctant to spend the marginal additional expenditure for the batteries to operate them sounds so peevish. You always have the choice to go in for non-battery-operated ones. When I read the question I felt that at least on parent has come up who is aware of the deleterious effect of such pre-set toys on the child's imagination. We who had only our imagination as the driving force of the toys steam engines cold easily turn into flying trains and aeroplanes plod through the heavy traffic avoding the crowd. But alas, you are not one of them.
You are the partisans of the computer games which leave no scope for the imagination of the child. Everything is preset and the only thing the child can do is to press the key or operate the mouse and watchhelpless what comes on. He does not have the slightest scope for his initiative to change the course of events.Do you think any of them could even become a social leader who ,like the mythical Ravana, change the course of the Ganges by just damming the flow with his twenty hands?

Yes, they should come with batteries. But then the toys would probably be more expensive then they were in the first place.

I think they should but it would cost them more & maybe the batteries would lose their charge before the toy was bought, so that might be why most toys don't come with them.

YES I THINK THAT ALL TOY'S SHOULD COME WITH BATTERIES, B/C THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. IT WOULDN'T BE RIGHT TO GIVE A CHILD A TOY WITHOUT GIVING THEM THE BATTERIES.

i agree with you. batteries are also expensive. some toys that need batteries can tend to be too loud and drive parent/s nuts.

I think they should! But if I buy a gift for someone and the product needs batteries, I buy some and wrap it up with the gift.

that would be nice, considering that it's the last thing you think about when buying toys.
