What is this Internet Doctor my comp wants me to download? It appears to be Micorsoft, how can I be sure?

My Avast protection stopped it and gave me a warning and being illiterate at this I was afraid.

I have used "Avast", for nine plus years. An if Avast tell your to stop the download, for sure follow Avast instructions. Usually Avast background scanner will not allow any program with a virus or malware hidden be installed in your system. The background scanner will catch it and destroy.

Plus I have never heard of "Internet Doctor". An I doubt serious that Microsoft any product called, "Internet Doctor. Microsoft does not send you programs unless you request and then they will check your platform with their WGA, to make sure your key is valid. You will only get critical updates if your pc is set up for auto updates. Owise you will download them on your own.

If you are curious about this software, you can download as "save to your documents, desk top, etc. etc. When the download is completed, open program and check it first with your avast & your antispyware. I am sure that Avast will find a trojan and destroy this program.

Then you can delete the download from your system.

I used Avast, an I never had one virus in over nine years.

You can always trust Avast, that the info, it is giving you is correct, and you should follow their instructions.
