I have an interview for a position I know I am qualified for, but I think because I have only done a certain aspect of this position for 6 months it may prevent me from getting the job. I'm thinking of saying I've done it for a lot more than 6 months, since I've really been doing my current position for 6 years. Do you think the employer will ask that much detail if I lie about how long I've done it for.

it is never a good idea to lie on a job application. take the time in the interview to elaborate your skills and be honest.
usually employers only ask your previous employers if they would hire you again.

Hello? ...don't lie, you can sell yourself. Just tell them your tenure of 6 years is pertinent to your current position you are applying for. You have work experience, doesn't have to be same exact position. You may be dependable, and that's what theyre looking for!

We have our own company. We are very thorough in our questions. If you put it down, it had better be true as far as we're concerned.
