In a sentence. Deviance either becomes the mainstream (earrings, tattoos, clothes) and loses its 'tabooness' or it stays deviant until it can be integrated into society & rationalized as not being nearly as crazy (Surgically made dorfal fins for example...not popular yet) as one would think.

The human mind naturally looks for the new and exciting, it would be very boring if everyone was the same.Without change or adaptation we would all be still hanging around caves scrounging for food. If you are speaking of deviate acts there needs to be bad or there would be no measure of good.

It is creative and opens up new ways of thinking.
Deviance is only acting out of the "norm".
If Rosa Parks didnt deviate, African Americans would still have to ride on the back of the bus.
