they drug their marriages out in the public eye for everyone to see...they talked about it and shared their personal business with the media. Hollywood couples who have stayed together live AWAY from Los Angeles and most likely are mature enough not to get caught up byt their celebrity status.....
a good marriage is made up of respect, commitment, love, compromise, and trust. people in good marriages/relationships don't forget to have fun with one another and create excitement...they care about each others needs more than their own.....this and a fair share of dedication and luck make up a good marriage. there's no guarantees in life....u just gotta do the best you can to make it work!!!

1) It's easy for them to afford a divorce.
2) They're jobs are such that they're away from home for months at time - that's a heavy strain on any relationship.
3) The Hollywood "scene" is full of parties and people sexually throwing themselves on these stars - not ideal for a marriage.
Mostly I think so many people have this false idea that marriage is all about "being in love" when really they're just thinking about infatuation and don't realize that love, real true love is something quieter, it takes work, and it's much more profound.
What makes a good marriage is when both the husband and wife puts the others comfort as their top priority. And being committed to the whole idea of marriage - not just the person. When you realize your marriage is something that's bigger than the both of you - you just don't walk away from it on selfish whims.

Hollywood marriages fail because it's all about pablicity. Most actors don't even know who they are, how can they possibly love someone else who doesn't know who THEY are either.

in the realm of celebrities, it is to keep ur personal life exactly that personal. here are some examples, kurt douglas/goldie hawn, michael douglas/catherine zeta jones, u never read about them in the papers, tabloids and such. now for the one u mentioned all u ever read was about their marriage and personnal lives. it was more for publicity

Commitment. And the realization that no matter what, you're married. Period. The end. And that, you just deal. :) Of course, both people have to have that attitude. We do, and we're going on 27 years.
