the puppy is 11 pounds. the kitten is like, 3 pounds.

puppy always play fight but if i continue to let it do so, will it lead to more problems in the future? Can dogs accidently kill cats through play fighting?

The kitten meows whenever the puppy is tugging its collar, but other times I've caught the kitten pounce and play fight with the puppy, biting his ear and repeatily latching himself onto the puppy.

I just don't want it to lead to a problem.

they are just playing. but just like kids...sometimes accidents happen.
i don't think they would hurt each other out of aggression considering how much they enjoy playing together, but you must keep in mind how much bigger the dog is than your kitty and supervise the playing.

don't worry...they can take much more rough play than you might think, it's good that they are friends.

I think it is fine if they play fight! I know a lot of dogs bigger than that that play fight with cats! How long as the dog and cat been together?? It should be ok cause they both want to play at some points. When cat don't want to play the cat will let the dog know. I don't think it will be a problem because then they are close .

Dont stress- this is very normal behaviour. Out of the dogs- the lab is the leader- he is the oldest and has been there the longest. Next comes your Schnoodle, and last in the pecking order is your puppy. Your older lab is just showing the pup that he is the boss- and he is not interested. This is a good lesson for your pup- it is teaching her to respect her elders, and how to react around other dogs. My dog is hopeless when it comes to signals like this- she blatantly ignores warnings like this- which can lead her into fights. The fact that your Lab has not tried to snap at the pup (and if this happens- dont punish the old dog- most dogs snap or bite once to make their point- once the fighting is over they know where they are and they tend to get along quite happily afterwards) is good- it means that puppy is respecting the older dog. There is nothing wrong with your dogs- they are both acting quite normally and it sounds like they are getting along pretty well.

I have a puppy who pays with my kitten. Theyre both the same size though but I don't think there will be a problem. Unless they're already grown trying to play because that may lead to an actual fight and they can seriously harm each other

This shouldn't lead to a problem. They are just playing. Animals have an intuition. If the dog is hurting the cat, then the cat will tell the dog by hissing. My dog and a friends cat used to play all the time!

How big will the puppy get when grown? I'd make sure that if the puppy is getting to rough you break them up and say "be gentle!" to the puppy. Praise him when he's playing gently with the kitten. They should be fine... but you don't want puppy getting bigger and rougher without realizing his own strength or he could easily injure the kitten.

I have a rottweiler and a staffordshire terrier and they both play with my cat like the ways you mentioned, I wouldn't worry, the way animals play sometimes can seem vicious to us humans but its just their way of having fun. Does kitty still have claws? Usually if doggy does something kitty doesnt like doggy learns real quick that those claws are sharp! :)

this is good and means they are bonding! as long as it is just playfighting and don't get to rough! don't worry, if the puppy gets to rough, the cat will let him know with a good smack!!
