What you need to do is do any operation to get 'm' alone. If it is (m/2) + 5 = -2, first remove the 5 from both sides of the equation so that you have (m/2) = -7. Then you multiply everything by 2 and you get m/1, which is m = -14.

If it's m/(2+5) then you have m/7 and you multiply everything by 7 to get rid of the bottom half of the fraction.

Do you mean m/(2+5)=-2?
This you would do as. 2+5=7 so
m/7=-2 multiply both sides with 7 to get the m alone so
7(m/7)=-2*7
The 7s on the right side divide each other and leave a 1. The left side becomes -14 so
m=-14

is it m over 2 + 5
or m over just 2
if it is m over 2 +5
then multiply both sides by (2 +5) to get m alone
otherwise, subtract 5 from both sides, then multiply both sides by 2
