temp to hire position, being that I'm with a staffing agency, could it be possible that I may lose my job or not get hired permanently due to the pregnancy?
What are the laws or regulations about hiring a temp during pregnanices?

You need to read your handbooks through the agency. FMLA - laws are really strict on those kinds of things. Also check with your doc if you need to be on any restrictions. hopefully you can get on a position permanently and get insurance to help with your bills and definitely get short term disability to get paid while on maternity leave!!

With staffing agencies, you work for the agency not the company where you are placed. Check with your agency find out what their policies are on placements. The contract they have with the company you are working for my have stipulations protecting you during your pregnancy.

Having worked for several agencies over the years I know that you can be pulled from a placement without notice for any or no reason. The company may simply state your services are no longer necessary. I do not know what the policies or laws are regarding pregnancy and temporary positions. I do know with my first pregnancy, I was not able to get a placement because I was pregnant. I was given some story about being a liability.

First check with your agency's policies then with your state policies. Good luck.

Some temp agencies sometimes have insurance. Just like a regular job, after a certain amount of hours you can accrued vacation and sick time and eventually get insurance. Not all are like this but some are. Check with them and see what their policy is. Or try and find a temp agency that does have benefits after a certain amount of time working with them and switch.

first off your not supposed to tell your work that your pregnate until your in your 2nd trimester, because the chances of miscarriage is so high in the first trimester, that really theres no point in breaking the news to everyone within those first few weeks. As for law, there really isn't one, just make sure that there not making you slap bricks down to build a wall. CONGRATS!!!

Depends on the integrity of the people making this decision...they may find a reason not to hire you, but legally, they are not allowed to let pregnancy affect their decision.

They can't discriminate based on your pregnancy, but I'm sure you'll get replaced at where you're temping and probably asked not to come back

You're not showing yet, right? I wouldn't say anything until you are about 3 months along and that way you'll be somewhat established with your job. Good luck!

most states it is illegal to fire you if you are pregnant. you need to check with the company about maternity leave.
