It depends. If you need a certain level of hearing to perform your job duties then the hearing test may be necessary. Your boss should have had the discussion with you in private & by law should not discuss the issue with any of your co-workers without your consent. If you are hearing impaired you may want to seek out a client advocate from your local Independent Living Center for the Disabled. Call them up and tell them your issue & they will advise you.

Can you be more explicit? Why has he asked you?
It is likely he has reason to ask you so you should find out why before you ask whether this is right or not.
I would suggest that if you have hearing difficulties then it could possibly affect your job and he is perfectly entitled to know about any health issues you may have.

If your company is willing to pay for you to have health checks then you should take them with gratitude. If there is nothing wrong with your hearing, you have nothing to lose. If there is a problem, then it is in your own best interests to get it sorted out sooner rather than later.

i don't think he has, maybe he asked other's in private, that or maybe he thinks you need one, or it could be that you joined at a diff time to the other's and after so long (i think 2 years) it's time for the hearing test.

If he has reason to believe that you required one as part of the medical examination for health and safety, then you need to have one. Refusing could result in a dismissal.

It's kinda like drug tests. If you don't do it you can get fired. Even if it was a random one and other people didn't haev to take it.

Ignore him and when he askes you why you didn't take the test say that you couldn't hear him.
- Or say, "I'm sorry but I can't hear you ... do you think I should take a hearing test?'
