Last night I dreamt that I was shot. I didn't feel any pain but I died. Somehow I knew this but in the dream I was still alive; like I came back to life. When I "came back to life" I noticed that one of my front teeth was missing. There was just a jagged piece of tooth there. I remember looking around for it and I found the rest of it shattered on the floor. It looked like a small piece of pottery that had fallen to the ground and shattered. The last thing I remember was touching it then I woke up. Usually when I wake up from a dream I'm startled awake but this time it was like I just opened my eyes and that I had been awake the whole time. I wasn't tired or sleepy even though it was only 4 am.

Anybody out there familiar with dreamology that can interpret this for me? It gave me a weird feeling after I woke up.. Hm. Thanks for your help. :)

Could it be that you are suffering from self-destructive tendencies, for example keeping within yourself some aggression that needs to be expressed? Could it be that your dream wants to warn you not to "kill" an important part of yourself by not allowing yourself to live and to express that part of yourself?

...Because that is what my booklet on dreams says being murdered tends to stand for. And it says teeth tend to symbolize your approach towards dealing with aggression, your approach towards defending your own borders, or else a loss of vitality.

Could it be that you are somehow killing off an important part of yourself, trying to get this part of yourself to shut up, not giving it any room in your life, not allowing yourself to be completely you, thereby being in effect aggressive against yourself? But this part of yourself is still strong, it comes back to life, back into your life and gives you another chance to live it? Though it is wounded now, the attempt at killing it having cost it energy... Could it be that this part of you is really saying to you "please let me live, and please take especially good care of me, defend me against all attacks from outside (in the form of expectations, aggression, power games or whatever it may be), because i am really important because i am you"?

"Well, who shot ya?" Your dream has a theme of betrayal. Getting shot means someone was after, the broken tooth, a form of maybe degradation, embarassing you somehow?
I used to have a recurring nightmare where I was on a playground and all but 2 of my friends pulled out guns and began shooting at me. At the time, I was feeling betrayed by a lot of people.. hope that all helps.

O.K.I have this book called"Encyclopedia and dictionary of dreams"So let me look it up real quick,,,,,,It says that being shot means "abuse from a source you had depended upon."Did you depend on someone at all and he/she didn't come threw with something or anything like that..And now teeth,,O.K. hold on......O.K. it says "Do exercises to relax you'r jaw while on alert for enemies." Wierd but in a way it kinda coincides with being shot.Trippy.Hope you can find what you think it could be about.

When you were dreaming, your body changed it's function, causing you to feel less tired/sleepy.
