Italy is called il Belpaese ("beautiful country") by its inhabitants, due to the beauty and variety of its landscapes. The country is home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites (41).

No Italian explorer.

I do not believe that Italy was named after an explorer at all. Perhaps you are thinking of the fact that America is named after Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci.

America was named after Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci.

In origin only a small portion of today Italy was called Italy (latin "Italia"). This area was named from a local osco-umbran speaking tribe, "Itali" .

This tribe in turn was named from "(U)itulus" (in oscoumbran Vau letter "U" fell) that means "calf", the animal symbol/coat of this tribes

Thats impossible. A discoverer can't be from the country. You might be thinking of Amerigo Vespucci whos name was used for America thanks to his journals of the outline of the new world.
