If you like Shojo like moi, then you might like Fruits Basket, Cardcaptor Sakura, DN Angel, Sailor Moon, Chobits, or Naruto. You can go to youtube.com and search the name of the anime you want + episode # and you might be able to find some of the episodes, or just visit the store that sells that kind of stuff.

If youre starting out on anime. Then I suggest going to your local blockbuster or any rental store that youre sure that rents anime. I mean, besides Vampire Hunter D being my first anime that ive ever watched. I started out watching more by doing this method.

But to totally answer you. There are lots. Many for kids and many for adults.

Honestly, a good place to start is what kind do you like: drama, comedy, horror, etc. The anime news network is a really good place to start. I appreciate you being honest about your spelling, so don't feel so bad.
