A bigot, but used when the normal adjectves such as racist or sexist or whatever don't quite apply, because they are too specific or because the bigotry crosses more than one line. The other point of the term is that they do not really care what they hate so long as they have something or somebody to hate, someone that they can believe is lower on the social scales than they themselves are.

A hater is a person who puts another person down because of his/her good fortune. It is also a self esteem thing. A person who may look or behave in an outrageous manner may state that anyone who disagrees with what they are doing is a hater.
It simply means one is jealous.

I don't know for sure, but I've usually heard it used as an excuse for morally bereft jerks.
Edit: To make this clear, what I'm saying is that nearly everytime I've heard the term, it's been from a "player" making excuses for himself.

A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.
