I find that so hard to believe. That's inexcusable at that level of education.I've been in the building trades for 19 years and can add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions in my head. The rules are painfully simple regarding the math.I have a hard time believing anyone could have problems with that.
And not for nothing, but your grammar is pretty bad as well. The question should read "Why do students at the university level still have difficulties with fractions?"

Because some people are good at math and some are not. I never had any problems with my algebra/calc classes, but I can understand the frustration. You can say the same thing about English. Use this site as an example. How many spelling/grammar mistakes do you see constantly? There are just as many in a stack of resumes. I think it all boils down to whether someone is good at math or not.

In defense of some university students, I'll have to say that not all students, even those with excellent abilities in certain areas, are good at math. I could understand if a history or literature student was having trouble with the examples you give in a required math course, but if you are saying math majors are making these mistakes, they will have a difficult time catching up on fundamentals, to say the least!

As with all education, you retain what is used in your everyday life. If you don't use fractions at least periodically, you push that information to a spider-webbed corner of your brain.
Foreign language is an excellent example. You can make A's in the class and 10 years later can only remember a few phrases and words.

not an common selection... nicely, medicine is rather aggressive - extremely while you're looking Oxford. Maths A-point is generally algebra yet you do additionally could take an utilized difficulty (stats - documents diagnosis, mechanics - physics stuff or determination). that is particularly warm (regardless of in case you prefer to do something not appropriate, eg my buddy took maths yet is employing for english). you will not discover the transition from English Language to Literature puzzling in any respect - they're very comparable; in lit you merely leave out out on the inventive writing section....I surprisingly doubt you will possibly incredibly could seize up in any respect. Maths might look greater effective - as long as you would be predicted an A, not a B, that should screw your application. yet, in case you like English and are greater probable to get an A/A* in that at A-point, then decide for it - merely be conscious that at interview they might ask you why you elect English extremely of a greater scientific difficulty. as long as you get A/A*s in Chem & Bio, maximum scientific colleges will evaluate you - get countless suitable artwork adventure, do countless greater stuff and you'd be effective! on the latin factor - on line A-levels are not incredibly that super. and you will possibly could initiate with a GCSE extremely than an A-point. it ought to distract you out of your different learn. yet once you truthfully need to do it, merely google it!

some people are good at math and some are not and the people who are not good tend to repeat the mistakes over and over.

The US school systems suck. In Mexico, as I understand it, is mandatory to know Algebra by the sixth grade! Just astounding!

Why do they have difficulty?
Because they did not learn this properly in High School.
Or perhaps, they have forgotten.
